The Kansas City, MO School Board has a new format for its two monthly board meetings: The second Wednesday of each month will be a workshop, and a business meeting will be held on the fourth Wednesday.  Look for our Report Cards following each business meeting.

District staff initiated this format on July 13 by presenting details of the Transformation Phase II.  Members of the administration reported on Student Centered Learning, Parent University, the Pioneer performance-based compensation system for teachers, technology, the LITE Academy designed to train effective principals and leaders, Future Teachers of Kansas City, and communication including “Coffee with Covington – a community conversation”.

The quality of information and the professionalism of the administrative team earned this meeting an “A” by DTRTFK Board Watchers and is a good step toward building community trust and support for the school district.
